I am starting this blog because my life is driving me crazy. I am overweight, unhealthy and I have no energy to get things done so I've decided to keep a blog of my progress - tracking what/when I eat, how/if/when I excersise and how I'm feeling each day. I hope it will motivate me to loose weight and feel better about myself as a whole. So here the journey begins....

Sorry...

Just wanted to put in a small update - it was getting kind of tiring reposting my calories etc. so I stopped that.  But I have lost 7lbs in the past 7 weeks which I'm very pleased with - I've really upped my wii fit which I think makes a huge difference (obviously daily exercise DUH) so that's where I'm at for those who wanted to know :)

Blah

Today I have just felt disillusioned, overwhelmed and inadequate. I suppose it is connected to the fact that somewhere in the back of my mind a part of me feels like I should have accomplished more with my life by now. The reasonable part of me says - 'um, hello, you have two beautiful children!!' and I am aware of that but that snide little voice in the back of my head says 'yeah and what else?' As if having children is not the most important thing in the world (which it is to someone who always wanted to have children). Maybe it's because I know I've decided not to have any more children and now I'm getting older and they are getting older and once they are grown I won't have anything to show for myself. Which is ridiculous because I have lots of plans for the rest of my life not in the least including my art/career. But the silly voice in my head says I will never accomplish anything because currently I can not even keep a steady hand on my housework. Not to mention the plethora of things that need to be accomplished before we move back to Canada. Yeah, lets not mention that.  Finished the cake today - that's that out of the house.  I also managed to sneak a peak at the scales today and it's still sitting at 220lbs so maybe I'm off the hook this week and I won't have gained any weight at least XD

Underwhelmed

As a result of such an awesome Friday my actual birthday was a bit underwhelming although thank god for Brian who looked after the kids and let me sleep in and did all (read: most) of the dishes so that I could get up and make us pancakes.
Then we all walked down the town to get Aidan some 'big boy' underwear because he is finally taking the potty training we have been trying to do for the last year and a half seriously. :/
I forgot how exhausting the mall is on Saturday. By the time we got home we were all hungry and tired which put us all in a very grumpy mood - Aidan had to go to the naughty step twice and I broke down in tears whilst cooking sausages because I yelled at him. He told me I scared him and I said it was because I wasn't being a very good mummy. Then he hugged me and I was able to finish making dinner. Also, my bracelet that I got while we were on our honeymoon that I had recently rediscovered and was so happy to be wearing broke. And I mean, unfixable-broke. And that made my cry all over again.  Luckily I managed not to eat the rest of the chocolate cake (just one piece after dinner) but then Brian went to the shop and brought me back some cashews and I ate half of them.  - still, better than chocolate and better than eating the whole bag right?  *nods*

Birthday Party :D

Yeah, I got nothing to say - it was my birthday dinner/lunch and it was worth every calorie! - Michael and mum made homemade roasted red pepper houmous with rye crispbread and mushroom risotto for lunch and then aubergine(eggplant) lasagna with ceasar salad for dinner plus my amazing chocolate strawberry cake of which I had two slices. XD  - back on track tomorrow folks!

Calcium/Fat?

I've noticed that I've had a really hard time reaching my calcium intake without overshooting my fat allowance.  Gotta try and get some more leafy greens in through the day instead of dairy :/
 I did manage to substitute my regular fries with sweet potato fries - which were awesome btw.  The whole family loved them!  Also, made the chocolate/strawberry cake for my birthday dinner tomorrow - lol I have a feeling I'm going to blow past my allowances tomorrow :s

I totally though I wasn't going to loose anything because of that damn fudge.  HA!  I laugh at you FUDGE - you will not be the undoing of ME!!  Now, if I can just get past my chocolate strawberry cake for my birthday on Friday I should be ok.  I'm so MOTIVATED! XD

Minor setback....

Ahhh I had such good intentions for today.  Light breakfast - rice cakes with peanut butter and jam, then off to mum for the day - went out for luch - a nice baked potato with creamchese/roasted pepers and sweet chili jam.  For a sweet I got a meringue with cream - nice and light plus I knew I was having wraps for dinner - all veg, no worries. 
Then Ellen came over, and she brought me fudge. >.<
I managed to resist the chocolate truffles she had bought and I was good during the day and only had one small piece.  Then I brought it home with me and gave some to Brian - good good but I still had a piece and a half left.  I split the big piece with Brian and had the other half.  150g in total.   
THE NIGHT BEFORE MY WEIGH IN WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!!!
ugh... I guess we'll see the damage when I weigh in tomorrow. *sigh*

Movie Day - first meal out!

Ok so today mum called up and said her and Michael would take the kids so we decided to go to the movies.  We got subway for lunch and that was all fine (except for the crisps :s) but then after the movie we had some extra time and we walked over to BK for an icecream : (
At least I got a good hour of fast walking in today (trying to catch buses and be on time for the movie)
